Toubkal Charity Trek – Challenging 4167m summit

Toubkal Charity Trek – encompassed within this 5 day trip (including travel) is the challenging 4167m summit climb to the top of North Africa. Mount Toubkal is over 13,000′ and very vulnerable to the weather.

  • 5 day trip UK – UK, 3 days/2 nights on trek; tough summit climb
  • All meals on trek; b’fasts in hotels
  • Explore the ‘pink walled city’ of Marrakech
  • Very experienced Guides
  • Full support pre-trek

The international flights are direct to Marrakech from London. There is an overnight stop in the city before driving to Imlil the next morning, and then trekking straight up to the mountain refuge known as Neltner (3200m). Two nights are spent here; one prior to summiting and one post summit. The second night is also a spare in case the weather is unkind thus preventing a successful summit at the first attempt. It’s a pre-dawn start for the climb to the top. It takes a good 4hrs through pockets of scree and snow. From the top, on a good day the Atlantic and the Sahara can both be seen. It’s a great feeling reaching the ‘triangle’.

On returning to Marrakech, make use of the time by exploring the plethora of souks (markets) within the famous Medina or experience a local Hammam or hotel Spa.

This is an excellent short charity challenge.

Worried about the climb? – no need. It’s the same route up and down so if it gets too tough, clients are escorted down. This is not a committed point to point route.

Altitude Issues? – the altitude of the Neltner Refuge is 3200m (where you sleep). We do get some trekkers who are susceptible to the altitude on the climb to the summit but nothing that the descent won’t rectify. If it troubles anyone, they are escorted down.
