2019

2020

The Sahara – no roads, no people, no sounds.
Quite simply a superb adventure.

Our Sahara charity treks are one of the most comprehensive there is; a full on adventure deep into the desert.

  • It’s liberating; just you and raw nature.
  • All meals and drinking water on trek, b’fasts in hotels.
  • Sleep under the stars.
  • 2 nights Marrakech, 2 nights en route. Full support pre-trek. Excellent Guides

Fly into Marrakech and travel down to the desert before totally immersing yourself in the desert way of life. The trekking route allows you to fully experience this superb region, travelling through hamada, twisting wadi’s and untouched windblown sand dunes.

Expect isolation from civilisation, huge sand dunes, fantastic food, big star filled skies, great sunsets, sand as far as the eye can see, space, time to yourself (for once!) and to make life long friends. This is a life changing experience.

Worried About Camel Spiders or Snakes? – don’t be. Not even our Guides have seen these and it’s way too chilly for these bad boys to be out and about.

We fly into Marrakech – the alternative is Ouarzazate. Not good! There is only 1 airline that serves Ouarzazate and it is unreliable. If that leg of your journey goes; you lose a big chunk of your trip; too risky.

Mar/Apr and Sep/Oct/Nov are considered the best months but even then the weather can vary. The odd sandstorm is not uncommon.

In can reach 40°C during the afternoon but average day temperatures will certainly be close to 30°C. It can be deceptively chilly overnight so warm clothing is also needed. You will definitely be living in shorts and t-shirts!

Groups vary but work on between 60 – 100km depending on progress. Our Guides are good at gauging a group’s fitness level. You walk at your own pace. There are camels on hand to assist if someone is really struggling for any reason (injury/illness).

No, thank goodness! It is a good mixture of deep sand, hard baked wadi (river bed) and hamada (small pebbles mixed with the sand).

There is plenty of big dunes and deep sand though, and of course there is the 1900′ Erg Zaher dune (nicknamed ‘Eric’). You will climb this huge dune for sunset.

The food is outrageously good; it really is. That’s before you consider how they are cooking it. Fresh baked bread is cooked in sand ovens half way through to resupply.

Bottled mineral water is carried from the outset for the entire trek (by the camels).

You will sleep in 2/3 man tents complete with 2 inch foam mattresses.

Yes you can. And we don’t charge any form of administration fees for a different return flight to that of the itinerary. A couple of extra nights in Marrakech is common to explore this city.

A stroll up Erg Zaher (Eric)
Altitude 1900′

Come join us – this is one of the best sahara trekking experiences there is.
